She's off to see the Wizard! We have just returned home from an epic adventure around Australia and we're busy settling back into school, work, civilization! Luckily though, we were back just in time for the fun that is Book Week! Last year a perfectly chosen for her, Fancy Nancy, was a breeze as we had all the Fancy bits lying around - and being worn on a daily basis. This year after choosing Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz the first thing that popped into my mind was the Ring Around the Rosie pattern was made for this gig! I do love a any excuse to use gingham as well so win win!! I had all intentions of making a Jumping Jack top with Merry Go Round flutter sleeves tucked in, but Gastro hit us hard - being 16 weeks pregnant that was nausea on top of nausea!
The left over bits leave just enough fabric to make these beautiful bows to polish off Dorothy's look - you can find the tutorial HERE. I will definitely be using these for stash busters in the future for those tiny "what do I do with these now?!" pieces. Altogether a quick and easy sew, stick a tutu under for a bit of flare, pair with frilly socks and sparkling shoes - Wah-Lah! She's all set to follow the yellow brick road!
