Todays Costume in our lead up to Halloween is a bit of fun because we took the kitty costume from yesterday, switched it up a bit and gave it a whole new look. We usually have a few parties and events to go to around this time of year so this way we can mix up our looks with just a few simple changes.

Sewing wise I used the Merry Go Round skirt and extended the waistband 1.5" so I was able to fold it over a .5" and then another 1" to create a elastic casing without having to cut an extra piece. This material was wide enough as well so I just had to cut one rectangle (based on the measurements in the Merry Go Round instructions and sew three seams - doesn't get much simpler than that!

You can see the tail I created for yesterdays look a bit better as well. For instructions on how I did this you can checkout the post HERE. I added a headband with an oversized bow, a pair of white gloves, Pigtail buns for ears and slipped the skirt over the bloomers with the tail hanging out and Voila! a pretty little kitty became Minnie Mouse!

If you wanted to create this look on it's own without first making the kitty you could make a two toned Merry Go Round and for a bit extra you could sew up some Ring Around the Rosie bloomers separately to pair under, just like Minnie!

To make this Minnie you'll need the Merry Go Round Dress pattern and optionally the Ring Around the Rosie romper for the bloomers. For those of you braving the cold up North, you could also add the sleeves from the Jumping Jack top for some added warmth.
