Puzzle Patterns - Merry Go Round & Flying Fox

As you may know, Puzzle Patterns are designed to be interchangeable - like puzzles. At the end of each pattern is a few pages of instructions that walk you through the steps to mash up patterns to make new designs. This is a fun way to be the designer yourself - BUT I thought it would be more exciting if I walked you through it in blog posts with lots of visuals and more detailed instructions. So here you have it, our first Puzzle Patterns series and in our debut we will be mashing up the Flying Fox dungaree pattern...

Puzzle Pieces: Ruffled Dungarees

Happy New Years! It was so exciting to end 2017 with the launch of our debut collection Playtime - and I'm even more excited to kick off the blog with lots of fun sewing projects in 2018! As you may know, the Playtime collection is designed around creating a capsule wardrobe with the pattern pieces being interchangeable - like a puzzle. the Flying Fox roundup! Part two.

Day 2 of the Flying Fox round up and we have some super cute versions to share with you today!  Dusty's beautiful version with contrasting pockets (and that bonnet!!) is divine.  Gabrielle's retro bodice mixed with amber corduroy is funky and fun!  Feyza often sews for both of her little ones creating the coolest sibling outfits. Plus how great is that brother and sister bond? Gorgeous!  \ Amanda's uber girly Fox is so sweet on her little lady. Wendy's version shows the Fox can be great for country life and still incredibly adorable at the same time.  . . . . That's...

the Flying Fox roundup! Part one.

Today we're going to show you some of the beautiful Flying Foxes that people are sewing up. This pattern is one of my personal favorites in the collection. It's quick and fun to stitch up, can be styled in so many ways and - as you will see over the next couple of days - suits so many styles.  Brooke sewed up a beautiful version in baby pink and gold and paired it with a flutter sleeve top (which you could create as well with a mash up of the Jumping Jack top and the Merry Go Round sleeve). Jeannine's black and white polka...

Flying Fox

This week is all about the second sewing pattern in our collection - the Flying Fox! This pattern is a childhood staple - dungarees, overalls, whatever you may call them, we all remember wearing a pair. They are the ultimate outfit, whether in childhood or now. This pattern can be made with either shorts or pants and in addition you can omit the bib section altogether creating stand alone bottoms! There are so many options with the Fox, you can sew the pattern up as is and layer with a Jumping Jack shirt adorned with a Merry Go Round Collar. You can also switch...
